13 Moons of Creation, a lunar calendar and Planner
What if we oriented our celebrations and our marking and understanding of time towards caring for the mother of us all – Mother Earth?
13 Moons of Creation, a lunar calendar, guides you to deepen your relationships with nature, yourself and others. This calendar offers a way to align with divine feminine energy: Grandmother Moon’s 28-day cycle beginning on the New Moon and Mother Earth’s energy, as the moon names reflect the changes in her energy and state from New Moon to New Moon. Each moon orients us to the cycle of the seasons, the changes on Mother Earth, these teachings can help us live in a good way and guide us in caring for Mother Earth. The moons in this calendar are named based on the teachings of my Anishinaabe Elders from southern and central Ontario. Different nations hold different teachings and moon names, so this calendar is also an invitation to get curious about what the names of each moon might be for your area. Each moon has the English name and the Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe language) name.
The 13 Moons of Creation Lunar Calendar and Planner, offer an ancient and yet new way of orienting our energy. When we live in cycle with the Moon, we begin to see our lives as part of a daily and ongoing cycle. We are reminded that we are part of a larger cycle and to honour our own sacredness and synchronicity with it. By marking time and centering the teachings of the moon, we will create deeper connections to Mother Earth’s cycles and her needs, and move closer to stewarding her and tending to her in a good way. In a chaotic and superficial world, the teachings of Grandmother Moon can ground our energy and bring us back to peace with ourselves, and be present to the energy and teachings of Mother Earth.
